To say the Linger Lodge is quirky would be a severe understatement. As a matter of fact, Linger Lodge Restaurant & Bar was once dubbed one of the “Top Five Weirdest Restaurants in the Country” by Al Roker on the Food Network.

What make this restaurant so unusual? Frank Gamsky, the original owner and an amateur taxidermist, filled the walls, ceilings and display cases with local creatures and critters. Preserved snakes, coyotes, alligators and more keep you company while you enjoy the down-home, southern cooking.

Take time to browse the many mounted fish and other animals, including the strangest of all animals, the Blub-Billed Orthlock or the Turkey Rattler.

Linger Lodge is “Old Florida” at its best. Where else can you enjoy dinner on the beautiful Braden River, while eating Gator Gumbo and sipping on a Gator Rum Runner? And be sure to leave room for dessert … we hear the River Bottom Pie is to die for!

After dinner, you may decide that you are too tired to drive or perhaps just not quite ready to enter the hustle and bustle of the real world. No problem! Just rent a cabin and sleep the night away, Old Florida Style!
